Smartlipo FDA Approved

Previously available only overseas, Smartlipo™ laserlipolysis (laser assisted liposuction) was approved by the Food & Drug Administration on October 31, 2006, and has already been featured in People magazine ("Has Fat Met Its Match?"), and on Good Morning America, the Today Show and Access Hollywood.

Official Smartlipo Training Center

Dr. Schafer was hand selected by Cynosure, the manufacturer of Smartlipo, to be the first doctor in California to perform the procedure. He is one of the first on the West Coast and New Image Cosmetic Surgery is an official training center for others to learn the new technique. Dr. Schafer also has 30 years of laser experience and 20 years of liposuction experience. To date, he has performed over 300 Smartlipo procedures and has trained over 30 doctors in the Smartlipo technology.

SmartLipo™ Laserlipolysis

Smartlipo™ laserlipolysis is a minimally invasive procedure which uses a laser to zap unwanted fat fast, whether on the face, neck, back, thighs, arms or breasts. Utilizing a local anesthetic rather than a general anesthetic, you can actually stand during the treatment, ensuring that you attain the body you've always wanted the first time; traditional lipo requires post surgical touch ups as much as 20% of the time. Dr. Schafer is now using the newest Cynosure Smart Lipo technology with the newly released 18 watt system.
